The Grandin Theatre in Roanoke, Virginia held a special screening last night of  “What Lies Upstream.”

The documentary details the corporate negligence and alleged government complicity surrounding the January 2014 leak of MCHM — a coal-processing detergent manufactured by Freedom Industries Inc. — into the Elk River in West Virginia.

The filmmakers visit Flint, Michigan, to show how the same factors contributed to the lead contamination crisis there.
