The shocking scope of the global refugee crisis is previewed in the trailer for Ai Weiwei’s “Human Flow,” which debuted Friday in honor of World Humanitarian Day.

Filmed in 23 countries over the course of more than a year, the Participant Media and AC Films documentary from the world-renowned artist, activist, and filmmaker captures the condition of today’s more than 65 million displaced individuals who have fled their homes in search of new lives.
