Last year, the Supreme Court made a landmark decision that legalized gambling at the federal level, allowing the expansion of its legalization outside of Nevada.

The decision swept through the country, as states—spearheaded by New Jersey, which had ardently opposed a federal ban on gambling—hastened to allow gambling on sports.

Professional sports leagues are adjusting to the new normal, and the Showtime documentary series “ACTION” looks at the implications of legalized betting from the gamblers’ perspective.

The film follows bookies, oddsmakers, and gamblers through the most recent NFL season and shows what is making the gambling world’s heart beat in a completely new landscape.

“ACTION” premieres March 24 on Showtime.
