Gravitas Ventures has acquired the U.S. rights to “Inside Lehman Brothers,” which chronicles the story of Lehman employees who paid the price for trying to expose the 2008 subprime mortgage crisis.

The film is director Jennifer Deschamps’ account of the mostly female employees who recognized the early warnings signs of the subprime mortgage crisis that would go on to rattle the global economy.

When the employees tried to raise the alarm about corrupt lending practices at Lehman Brothers, they were subjected to harassment and threats instead.

A limited theatrical release for “Inside Lehman Brothers” is slated for the fall.
